BRYAN WHYTE MEMORIAL What can I say about the weekend , well it all started with the triples on the Friday night and I was drawn out the hat with Bryans brother James and Ian Robertson , couldn't have asked for a better chance to try and win something and help James as I knew how much the weekend would mean to him . We played very well together with James and Ian scoring very well and taking out lots of doubles. So champions we became and a very proud captain for the night James was , very pleased for him . On to the Saturday and it was the singles day . Putting on my International shirt with Bryans name on it got me off again but thought to myself wouldn't it be great to win this today on such an emotional and very important day for me and Bryans family .Having played some very good players on the day I came up against fellow international player Neil MacDougal in the semi final and I think we both showed a very top class game and Neil proving why he is an International player and hopefully for a long time to come . i won this game this time 4-3 but im sure Neil will feel very proud of his performance and will get me back for sure . Into the final , and played Ron Maclean, He played very well but nothing was gonna take this great honour from me of winning the BRYAN WHYTE MEMORIAL TROPHY. Having won this I feel very honored and privileged to be the first name on the trophy and couldnt stop myself from getting very emotional and at the final presentation only one person was on my mind and only one person deserved the trophy more than me DAWN. Was also very privileged to have finally met Dawn and meant so much to me to do this , also to meet his mum and aunt was a privilege. Would like to thank Ally for purchasing my International shirt and adding to the memorial fund many thanks mate . My thanks must go to Linda,Duncan and all the staff from the TRADEWINDS who worked hard and without them would never have happened . Would like to thank everyone who attended and to all the new friends that i have made and hope to see you again soon. Sunparcs Masters 2014 Great weekend at Sunparcs Masters , semi final in the pairs with fellow international Stevie Plank , we had some great 17,18 dart legs (701) but came up against Glen Durrant and Martin Atkins who were in great form and deservedly beat us well , then went on to win the title , well done guys .The singles on the Sunday i felt good from the day before performance and was really up for it . I was scoring well and shock horror i was hitting doubles well . Had a great last 16 game with Gary Stafford which could have went his way but I had the darts in the last leg to take a very close match 5-4 . Last 8 game against James Hurrel was another great game but should have been James that won, but I know exactly how you feel James the doubles just wouldnt go for you mate and i stole the game from you but as I said take the positives from it and move on pleasure to play you. Zuiderduin Masters 2014 Well an up and down weekend at the last Zuiderdiun Masters , Friday nights match against Alan Norris I was a little nervous about but I put it behind me and got ready for the job ahead . Scored well and would you believe it I was finishing well so I kept my concentration and focus at its peak and went on to win the match 5-2 . I will say though that Alan was not feeling at his best but is still a dangerous player so I was very pleased I feel I wasn't as focused in this game as last nights game , unsure why but got on with it . Was a strange game as my finishing was weak and found my self 4-2 down when I feel earlier I should have been 3-1 up , but never mind I dug deep played well again and brought it back to 4-4 . We now had to bull up for the deciding leg , which I lost but started the leg well and found myself shooting first at the double with darts in hand as Rick wasn't yet on a finish .
