Lakeside World Championship 2013
This years Lakeside gave Ross a First round drawn versus Paul “Jenno” Jennings.
The game started with Jennings taking the 1st leg on double 5. Ross levelled taking the
second leg with an 86 shot. The 3rd leg saw Ross take the Lead, winning it with a good
103 outshot. 2 180’s and an 11 dart leg gave Jenno the 4th Leg and taking the first set
into a decider. This leg Jenno won in 18 darts to take the first set.
Jenno took the First leg of the second set, before Ross took 3 straight legs in 17, 15 and
13 darts to level the set score at 1-1 going into the break.
The 3rd set proved pivotal to the outcome of the match, Ross went into a 2 leg lead. In
Leg 3 Ross had left double 7, then had bust the score , Jenno stepped in to pinch the
leg with a 48 shot. 4th Leg, had Ross going for 90 after 12 darts, missing the double 15.
Jenno stepped up to hit a 144 outshot to take the Leg and level the set. The 5th leg, both
players were sat on Ton+ outshots after 15 darts. Jenno was first to throw and took out his
102 to take the set.
Ross took the First Leg of set 4 in 16 darts. Jenno again in leg 2 took out another big
score with a 121 outshot for a 15 dart leg with Ross sat on double 6.
The 3rd leg also went Jenno’s way, taking out 62 with Ross again sat on a double (24).
Ross now needed to win the next 2 to stay in. Jenno started with a 180, Ross hitting 100,
and 140 with his first 2 throws and both down to finishes in 12darts. Ross on 96, Jenno
takes out 48 in 2 darts to win the set and match in 14 darts.

Dutch Open 2013 - Veldhoven, Netherlands
This years Dutch Open started well for Ross with a 3-0 Victory in the First round against
Yannick van de Reijen. The Second round saw another 3-0 Victory for Ross, this time
defeating  Barry Boerboom.
The 3rd round was the Board Semi final and Ross lost out 3-1 to Bas Van Elk.
Next up for Ross is a county weekend for Fife and then onto The Scottish Open 2012.
Scottish Open 2013 - Renfrew
Another busy one at Renfrews Normandy Hotel with a capacity 1500 entrants.
In Round 1 Ross facedRicky Barker of Lothian, winning 3-0. Round 2 was a 3-1 over
John Charleston. Round 3 saw a 3 -2 Win over Paul McLeod with Ross finding an
11dart Leg to take the match.
Round 4 was against Nickie Adamsom and Ross won this one 3-1 moving into the last
128. In the Last 128 and Group Final Ross faced Stuart Bousefield, a former PDC player
and was defeated in a close run match 3-2. Ross just missing out on all important points.
In Sundays Pairs Ross again partnered Martin Adams. They progressed to the Group
semi, taking out good friend Antony Dundas En route. In the Board Semi Ross and Martin
faced Alan Souter and Craig Baxter and narrowly won 3-2. The Board final was against
Jim Williams and Jake Pennington again going all 5 legs, but this time the important 5th
leg going to their opponents.
Ross made it into the Last 16 progressing through his group.
In the Last 16 he defeated England’s Robbie Green 4-1 to progress into the Last 8.
In the Quarters Ross played Danny Noppert of the Netherlands beating him 5-2.
In the Semi Finals Ross played Geert de Vos, whom he lost out to 2 Sets to Nil. Geert
was then Beaten by Stephen Bunting in this years Final.
Mariflex Open 2013
British Internationals 2013 - Glenrothes, Fife
For Ross this years Internationals were held in Scotland for the first time
in a while and hosted by the Ciswo Club in Glenrothes. We had a bumper crowd and
were in for 3 fantastic days of darts.
The Saturday saw Ross lead out his Scottish Squad to play Wales. The Atmosphere was
electric with the sound of The Flower of Scotland and “Coming Down the Rd”.
In this match Ross was drawn out First and played Johnny Clayton who plays his county
darts for Gwent.
The Match went all 5 Legs with Ross Winning his 30th Cap and finding his 20th Victory
in the Blue shirt of Scotland. Ross was victorious 3-2 with a 92.46 Average.
Scotland went on to celebrate as they beat Wales 7-5 and set up a fantastic Sunday
Match v England.
England played Wales on the Sunday morning and after losing the first 5 points, went
onto beat wales 7-5...So the afternoons game with Scotland was all set to be a cracker.
Ross was drawn out last in this match, so would have to wait and watch his team.
Ross had drawn Glen “Duzza” Durrant, who has made quite an impact on the Circuit
over the last year. So with the Match over at 7-4 in Englands favour, it was only Pride at
stake for both players. As expected it was a cracking game, Ross going 2-0 up with
legs of16 and 18 darts. Duzza levelled at 2-2 with both legs finishing 103 the same route.
The fifth and final leg went to Ross and a final average of 91.91.
Ross won caps 30 and 31 and has now won 21 times for Scotland.
Welsh Open 2013 - Prestatyn
Starting off with the Mixed pairs Ross again partnered Zoe Jones, Winning their first 4
Matches 2-0. A 2-1 Victory over Jane Stubbs and Garry Thompson took them into
the Qtr Finals. In the Qtrs they defeated A.Rees and N.Pryatt 2-1 to move into the semi.
The Semi final saw a 2-0 Victory over Scott Waites and Dee Bateman. In the Final
they were to meet Welsh Pairing of Julie Gore and Jonny Clayton. In this best of 5 Final
Zoe and Ross took the 5th and final leg to win 3-2 and take their First Mixed pairs Title.
In the Mens Pairs Ross again partnered Martin Phillips. The First 3 Rounds saw 2-1
Wins for the Pair taking them into the Group Semi Final..Here they were defeated 2-1 by
the pairing of Menzies and Michie.
In the Singles, Ross started with a 3-0 win oiver Josh Parry and a 3-0 Win over Dave
Atkinson. In Round 3 was another 3-0 win for Ross, this time against Alan Walker of Wales.
The 4th Round saw Ross face fellow Scottish International Craig Baxter. This proved the
end of the Road for Ross with a 4-0 defeat to Baxter.
Scottish National Singles 2013
Ross progressed through the tournament to the last 32. Here he met fellow Scotland
team mate and friend Gary Stone. Ross won this 3-1 to progress into the last 16.
In the Last 16 he faced Cameron Menzies, another Scottish International, and defeated
him 3-0. The Last 8 saw Ross defeat Dean Fitch 3-0. Into the Semi Finals and a match
against another fellow International in Steve Taylor, with Ross winning 4-1 to progress
into the final. In the Final Ross faced Alan “Chuck” Norris whom he beat 4-1 to take this
years title.

Welsh Classic 2013 - Rhyl
The Mens Pairs saw Ross again partnered with Martin Phillips. Round 1 saw a 3-1 win
over J.Cooper and T.Smith. Round 2 was a 3-2 win over Jamie Holmes and Paul Jennings.
Round 3 saw another 3-2 Victory, this time over the Young pairing of Dave Pallett and
Ash Khayat. The Quarter Final saw a 3-1 Win over Tony Bradley and Dale Hughes.
The Semi Final saw a 3-1 Defeat against the eventual winners Robbie Green and Wesley
Harms.
The Mixed Pairs, Ross paired up with Zoe Jones, Round 1 saw a 3-0 victory over I.Pallett
and S.PArry. Round 2 saw an unlucky defeat to M.Rice and A.Kuijten 3-1..Some missed
doubles in the 3rd leg costing them.
The Mens Singles was to be played over Best of 7 Legs. Ross started with a 4-0 win over
Gareth Watts. In the Second Round Ross came out on top with a 4-1 win over John
Cooper. The 3rd Round saw Ross face Martin Adams, with this time Martin Winning 4-1.
But some useful points gained and now move onto Brean next weekend.
BDO International Open 2013- Brean Sands
The First round of the Singles saw Ross run out the 4-0 winner over Richard Jupp
of Wales. The 2nd round saw another 4-0 win, this time over Oxfordshires Wayne Warren.
The 3rd round was a bit tighter with Ross winning the 7th leg to progress v Sam Allen.
The 4th Round saw another meeting with Martin Adams..with this week seeing Ross win
4-2 over Wolfie. The Group Final saw Ross matched against Tony “Silverback” O’Shea
with Ross taking the decidsing leg to win 4-3 and progress.
The next round saw Ross up against current Lakeside World Champ, Scotty “Too Hotty”
Waites. Again going to the final leg, but with this time Scotty coming out on top.  But a
Last 8 finish fills another Box and brings some good points towards this yrs Lakeside.
England Open 2013 - Selsey
In the singles Ross won in Round 1 3-0 against Gordy Crews of the Isle of Wight.
In Round 2 Ross was defeated 3-0 by Geoff Taylor of Sussex.
In the Mens Pairs Ross Partnered Martin Adams winning round 1 3-1 against R.Platt
and G.Watts. In Round 2 they again won 3-1, this time against C.Draper and D.Reynolds
In Round 3 they were defeated 3-1 by W.Harwood and P.Carter..
Granite City Open 2013
In the Singles Ross kicked off with a 4-0 win over Lothians John McCafferty. In the Second
round he faced Stephen Michie and won 4-0. In the 3rd Round he faced Harry Murray of
Grampian and Won 4-1.The 4th Round saw another 4-1 Win this time against Craig Quinn
of Highland. The Last 32 Saw Ross face Steve Douglas, He won this 4-1 to progress.
The Last 16 saw Ross face Darryl Fitton, Which saw Ross defeat the Number 2 seed
5-1 to progress to the Quarters. In the Quarter Ross faced Scotland Team mate Gary
Stone.Ross came out the better of this 7 leg match winning 4-3. In the Stage Semi Final
Ross faced Andy Boulton but lost out to the Englishman 5-2. A good run and some good
points.
In the Mens Pairs Ross partnered Robbie Green and progressed well through the group.
In the Semi they defeated Paul Richardson and Clayton wilson 3-1 to progress to the
afternoons stage finals.
Here they faced Gary Robson and Derek Cunningham, winning 3-1 to take this years title.
England Masters 2013 - Pontins, Southport
For Ross the Weekend didn’t start until the Saturday afternoon, because of the running
of the England National Singles Event also on this weekend.
Saturday afternoon saw Ross competing in the Mens pairs again with Robbie “Kong”
Green. They Progressed through the field only dropping 1 leg in the forst 3 matches.
On reaching the final they were to face current World number 1 Stephen Bunting and
Mick Connerton. A very hard fought game with Bunting hitting a few 180’s but Robbie
and Ross’s Scoring and Finishing saw them more consistent and run out 4-1 Winners.
The Sunday afternoon saw the Masters Singles competition, Ross started with a 3-0
Win over Paul McGowan. Then in Rnd 2 a 3-0 over David Carr. I the last 32 Ross would
face Paul Jennings on the TV Lane. Agood game all round, but Paul hitting the doubles
for a 3-0 win.
Belgium Open 2013
In the Saturday Mixed pairs Ross again partnered Zoe Jones and made it through a class
field to the Final where they were beaten by Stephen Bunting and
Anastasia Dobromyslova.
In the Singles Ross, made it through the field to the Last 32 and into the Points where he
faced travel partner Alan “Chuck” Norris. Alan went onto win a close contest 4-3.
BDO-Winmau British Classic - Rotherham
Last weekends British Classic saw Ross drawn in Group 6. In round 1 He defeated
James Forster 4-1. The 2nd Round saw Ross defeat Paul Daniels 4-2. In the 3rd Round
or Last 64 Ross defeated Ronnie Godbeer 4-0. In the Last 32 Ross would face Pairs part
ner and Former world champion Martin Adams for the 3rd time in recent events.
Ross narrowly lost out in a close battle with Wolfie winning in the 7th and deciding leg.
EDO - England Classic  2013 - Selsey
This years England Classic was again at Bunn Leisure in Selsey. In the Singles Event
Ross started well with a 3-0 defeat of Kents Richie Plowman. In Round 2 Ross
defeated Ron Grant 4-1. Moving into the last 32 Ross faced another Kent player,
this time it was “the Game” Steve Douglas, A very close match going to the final leg with
Ross coming out the winner 4-3.
In the Last 16, Ross faced Wesley Harms. Ross was to lose out to Wesley 4-2.
In the Saturday afternoon Pairs Ross played with travel partner Alan “Chuck” Norris
and progessed through their group and into the Stage finals on the Sunday.
In the Final they Faced Tony O’Shea and Jimmy Hendriks. A close 5 Legs game, saw
Tony and Jimmy take the title of some missed doubles on both sides.
BDO British Open 2013- Bridlington
After a first round bye, Ross faced Tony Pearce in Round 2 Winning 3-0.
In Round 3 Ross faced Terence Agar losing out 3-0.
In the Pairs Ross again partnered Robbie “Kong” Green. They safely progressed through
their group and into the Stage Finals where they would face Steve Douglas and Gary
Stafford. In this Best of 5 Match Ross and Robbie ran out 3-1 Winners to take the Title.
Tops of Ghent 2013
A good weekend for Ross as He kicked of the Points chase for Lakeside 2015.
In the Last 256 he Beat Dennie Bos (NL) 4-0. In the Last 128 it Was the turn of
Kevin Blomme (Bel) to be beaten 4-0. In the Last 64 Ross had a much closer game with
a 4-3 over Lancashires, Anthony Urmston-Toft. The Last 32 saw another 4-3 win over
Donie Michels (Bel). Into the Last 16 and a 4-0 Win over Spains Tony Martinez (Esp).
The Quarter Final saw Ross face Garry Thompson, Which Ross won 5-3. The Semi Final
Was against Stefaan Deprez (Bel) of Belgium, which Ross won by 2 sets to Nil.
In the Final Ross was to face Rick Hofstra of the Netherlands in a Best of 5 Sets Match.
\It Went to the Final set with Ross claiming the Title and a 3-2 Victory. A great Start to the
Season, With Zuiderduin Masters and Lakeside not far away.
WDF World Cup 2013 - Canada
Ross again Captained Scotland’s World Cup Squad and what a week it was
to be for the Scottish Team and their Fans.
In the Girls Youth Single, Rebecca Graham lost out in the last 8 to eventual winner Casey
Gallagher. In the Boys Singles Bradley Weston was defeated before the last 8. In the
Youth Mixed Pairs Rebecca and Brad were beaten 5-4 by Rundle and Smith of Australia.
In the Ladies Singles, Louise Hepburn was beaten in Last 32 by Cindy Hayhurst and
Frances Lawson was defeated in the first round by Anne Willkomm of Germany.
In the Ladies PAirs Frances and Louise Were beaten 5-2 in the Semi Final by Canada.
In the Mens Events, Ross and Alan Souter were beaten in the Quarter Final of the Pairs
by Welsh Pairing of David Smith-Hayes and Jonny Clayton. Craig Baxter and Gary Stone
were beaten at the same stage by the English pairing of Bunting and Durrant.
In the Singles, Alan Souter lost in the Last 8 5-4 to Stephen Bunting of England. Ross
was beaten by America’s Tom Sawyer 4-1 in the Last 64. Craig Baxter lost out to
Englands Tony O’shea 4-0 in Last 32. GAry Stone Lost out to Thomas Junghens of
Germany 4-0 in Last 64.
In the 4 Man team Event, Scotland Progressed through the early stages of this 1 leg event
beating South Africa, Norway and Sweden along the way. In the Final they would face the
Team of America who had defeated England 9-2 in the Semi Final. A very nip and tuck
match with Ross winning his 4 Visits to the Board to Keep Scotland in the match and then
giving the other players a chance to shine and take the Trophy back to Scotland and Team
Scotland first ever World Cup Gold Medal and Also securing an Overall Silver medal
behind England.
Zuiderduin Masters 2013
TheGroup stages saw Ross firstly defeat Yordi Meeuwisse (Ned) 5-2, then in his
second match Ross played Robbie Green and won that 5-3 to progress into the quarter
Final.
In the Quarter Final Ross was to play Gary Robson in a Bet of 5 Sets encounter.
The Match went 2 sets and 2 legs all, before Ross finally took a nervy double to progress
into the Semi Final. In the semi final Ross was beaten 3 sets to nil by eventual Winner
James Wilson.
Winmau World Masters 2013 - Hull
This years Winmau again saw Ross seeded into the latter stages of the Tournament.
Ross first faced Mark Layton of Wales in the Last 32. This saw Ross run out the 3-1
winner in these 3 Legs per set matches.
In the Last 16, Ross faced Current World Champion Scott Waites and was beaten by
3 sets to Nil.
