Ross making the Headlines
The 17th Jan , saw a write up in the Sun Newspaper about Ross and The
Lakeside World Championships. For once it appeared in the middle section of
paper (Tv Reviews) and not hidden away in the sports section.
It seems Ross’s “Shufflin’” Walk on has caught the eyes of quite a few.

Lakeside World Championship 2012 Round 2
The opening set went with the throw to O’Shea, who then snatched the opening leg of the
second set against the throw and then defended his throw, Ross missing bull for an 86 finish
but recovering to finish on double eight after O’Shea missed doubles. O’Shea held his throw
in the fourth leg to move ominously 2-0 ahead.
O’Shea surged through the third set firing out a couple of 180s and an 81 finish
completed on bull to extend his match lead.
And then in the fourth O’shea fought back from 1-0 down to level and finish a 102 leg winning
checkout finished on double tops. Ross leapt in to finish on double six after Silverback failed
to clinch a match-winning 141. Ross then won the next with a  96, finished on double nine to
pull back a set.
In the fifth Ross hit double tops for an eye-catching 120 finish, O’Shea replying with a
104 checkout finished on double 16, adding a 92 finish completed with bull in the next to move
within one leg of victory. Leaving himself on 36, O’Shea agonised as Ross who needed 160
hit the two 60s, Ross breaking into a broad smile as his third dart failed to find double tops, just
brushing the bottom wire. O’shea fired in double 18 with his first dart to take the Match 4-1.
Lakeside World Championships 2012 Round 1
Saturday saw the Opening of this Years Lakeside World Championships and Ross up
last in the Session to play Fabian Roosenbrand.
Ross started well and went into an early 2 sets lead as Fabian mounted a challenge and
pulled back the 3rd Set. Ross went onto win the 4th and take a 3-1 Victory into the Last
16 and a Game against Tony “Silverback” O’Shea in Tuesday’s Evening Session.
Scottish Open 2012 and British International Selection
This years Scottish Open was to have a field in excess of 1000 players and
again this year would be played over 2 sessions.
Ross started well with wins over Paul Cliverd 3-0 and John Connal 3-1 and progressed
into the last 256 where Ross took on James Wilson of Yorkshire. At 2-1 Down, Ross
missed an opportunity at “Tops” to level the match, giving James the chance to win the
match 3-1.
The Pairs saw Roos again playing with Martin Adams defeated in the first round by
eventual winners James Wilson and Gary Robson 3-0.
The Weekend was rounded off well for Ross when he not only learned that he had again
been selected for the forthcoming British Internationals but was also handed the
Scottish Captaincy.
Mariflex Open Pairs 2012
Ross again partnered Martin Adams in this years Mariflex in Rotterdam.
Ross and Martin progressed through to the Last 16, where they met
R.Mooiman - S.Kolvers and won this one 3-1. In the Quarter Final, Ross and Martin
played Jan Dekker and Ron Meulenkamp, winning a close Match 4-3.
In the Semi Final Ross and Martin took on the Scottish Pair of Gary Stone and Ewan
Hyslop (Gary also plays with Ross at East Renfrewshire County Darts). They won
this one 4-0 to progress into the Final.
In the Final they met  Dennis te Kloese and L de Geus. A 5-2 Win saw the Pair add to
their collection of Pairs Titles.
Welsh Classic and Masters 2012
The Weekend started with the Welsh Masters Singles event. Ross was to exit in round 1
against Gwynedds Arwyn Morris with a 4-1 defeat.
The Next event was the Welsh Classic Pairs, here’s Ross partnered Dave Summer.
They progressed through Round 1 with a 3-1 win over Mark Rice and Dave Riley.
The Second round saw them against Will Roberts and Joe McDonald coming out
the 3-0 winners. The Third round saw them come up against fellow Scots Gary Stone
and Ewan Hyslop. The Best of 5 Legs match went all the way, but Ross and Dave came
out on the Wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline.
Monday saw the Welsh Classic underway.with Ross playing Mark Blandford of
Gloucestershire, winning this 4-2 to progress into the next round. The Second round saw
Ross taking on Yorkshires Brian “Doggy” Dawson, again Ross came out on top in a close
match and won this 4-3.
The Last 32, saw Ross in another 7 Leg Match against Richie George of Essex. Richie
continued his good run of form of late by winning 4-3. Ross just missing out on some
Points.
Next up for Ross will be The British Internationals in Llanelli, Wales, followed by
The German Open.
British Internationals, Llanelli, Wales
Scotland were unlucky in 2 Defeats over the Weekend. Ross played Carwyn Moss
Jones in the Game against Wales winning 3-1 (26.59). In the Sunday Match v’s
England Ross played Yorkshire’s James Wilson losing 3-0 with a 29.29 average.
Bulls German Open 2012
The German Open saw a field of 859 Men competing for this years title.
Ross progressed into the Last 32 where he unfortunately lost out to eventual winner
Geert de Vos by 3-0.
In the pairs Ross played again with Martin Adams and progreesed through to the Last
32 where they were beaten 3-2 by Te Kloese and Leeuwrik.
Europe Cup - Antalya, Turkey
We are pleased to announce that Ross has again been selected for Scotlands
Europe Cup Squad to play in Turkey in November. Ross will again Captain the
Side which also includes Gary Stone, Alan Soutar and Craig Baxter for the Men
Louise Hepburn and Susanna Young for the Ladies. We wish them all good luck
later in the Year.
The Singles Saw Ross progress well through his Group and into the Last 32.
Here he came up against Irelands Martin McCloskey, and won that 4-2. He then took
on fellow Scot, Mark Barilli, in the last 16 winning that 4-1. His Quarter Final Opponent
was to be Martin Phillips , whom he had partnered in the Pairs and also Defeated in the
2011 Final. This time, it wasn’t to be for Ross losing to Martin 4-2. Some good points
earn’t for Lakeside 2013.

Ross started off a good weekend of action by playing in the Mixed Pairs with
Zoe Jones making it to the Last 32 before a 2-1 defeat.
The  Mens Pairs Competition saw Ross Partner Welsh Captain, Martin Phillips.
They progressed well through the Field Winning their Group without dropping a single
leg and progressed into the Last 16.Here they defeated Lee Drummond/Clive Lewis by
2-0, then in the Last 8, Robert Huges/Kevin Thomas by 2-0 and in the Semi Final
they also defeated Mark Hadwick/Steve Shadwell by the familier Scoreline of 2-0.
In the Final they came up against Simon Latchum/Graham Lalor and won that 2-1
dropping their only Leg of the Competition.
Welsh Open 2012 - Prestatyn, Wales
British Grand Prix 2011/12
The Grand Prix table runs between the Hampshire Open and ends with last
weekends Welsh Open. This Season Ross has Finished Joint Winner with 37 points
alongside Stephen Bunting.
Dundee Open 2012
Ross carried on from his good run in the Welsh Open, by retaining his Dundee Open
Singles Title last weekend in Dundee. Ross defeated fellow Scottish International Alan
Soutar in this Years Final..

BDO International Open 2012 - Brean Sands
Last weekend saw the annual pilgrimage to Brean in Somerset for many of Europes top
Players.
In Last 256 Ross defeated Dorset’s Jamie Garman 4-0, then went onto to beat Somersets
Kelvin Hart in the Last 128 by 4-1.  In the Last 64 Ross faced Dutch player Jac Proosten
and came out on top by 4-2. In the Last 32 and the Points, Ross was defeated by Willem
Maudigers of the Netherlands.
In the Mixed Pairs Ross again Paired with Zoe Jones, who has been in fine form of late.
They progressed easily into the Last 32 where they took on Dorset County “A” pairing of
Ben Ward and Trudy Archer which they won by 3-0. They faced Aspinall and O’brian in the
Quarter Final which they again Won 3-0. They were finally defeated in the Semi Finals
by Dee Bateman and Scotty Waites.
EDO England Open 2012 - Selsey
Ross started well with a 3-0 Win over Surrey’s Tony Reeves. The Next round
saw Ross defeated 3-1 by Humbersides Tom Gregory.
Ross didn’t play in the pairs, but did take part in the Mixed Triples again playing with
Zoe Jones and Jake Jones. They were dfeated in the last 32 of the triples after a couple
of good 3-0 wins.
The first year in which this popular Open has been given BDO Invitation points,
again saw a rise in entries and a record attendence.
Ross was drawn in a tough group, proceeding through his first round 4-0 to James Angus
and then recieving a walkover in Round 2 over William Sutherland. The 3rd round saw
Ross taking on Benito Van de Pas of the Netherlands. Ross went onto lose this game
4-2.
The Next event for Ross will be the England Masters and British Classic at Coventry City
Ricoh Arena in 2 weeks time.
Granite City Open 2012 - Aberdeen
A busy weekend, with 2 Ranking tournaments at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.
The Saturday kicked off with the BDO British Classic, and event which Ross has won in
the past. The first round saw Ross win 4-0 v David Hicks. Round 2 saw Ross with another
win against Brian Johnston again 4-0. The 3rd Round,saw Ross take on Gary Stafford,
and again Won 4-0. The Last 32 saw Ross losing his First legs of the Weekend against
Darren Hale, Ross eventually winning 4-3. The Last 16 saw Ross play Stephen Bunting,
another close game saw Ross defeated 4-2 and Stephen progress into the last 8.
So important points on the Board for Ross in the First of these 2 events.
Sundays EDO England Masters saw Ross take on Hertfordshires Dean Cross, winning
3-0. The 2nd Round, Saw Ross take on Dorset’s Ben Ward, a close game with Ross 2-0
up and then Ben coming back to 2- 2, but Ross held onto to win 3-2. The 3rd Round saw
Ross take on Mark Stock (ed - another Dorset player who now represents Somerset) with
Ross winning this one 3-2. Next up was Worcestershires Tony Randell which saw Ross
defeated 3-1.
The Pairs, saw Ross paired with his Old Partner Martin Adams, they progressed to the
Quarter Finals where they were defeated by the Eventual Winners, Scott Waites and
Garry Thompson by 3-1.

Belgium Open 2012
This years Belgium Open saw Ross in the Points again with a Last 16 Finish.
In the Mens Pairs Ross again Partnered Martin Adams and Finished in the Last 32.
In the Mixed Pairs Ross partned Zoe Jones and finished in the Last 32.
Marymass Open Singles 2012
77 men & 16 ladies contested the annual "Marymass" Open singles at the Towerlands
sports club yesterday, Ross Montgomery and Margret Ferguson both came through
strong fields to claim the titles. Thanks to Carol Gibson, Kaileigh Brown and Wullie Laird
on running another successful competition.
BDO British Open 2012 - Bridlington
This years British Open was again held in The Bridlington Spa and the Last
Cat A Tournamentof the Season, with alot of players chasing points towards
Lakeside 2013 Qualification.
Ross started his Group games well with a 4-1 win over Mark Laybourne, Round 2 saw
a 4-0 win over Andy Harland and into the Last 128 Ross went. Here he played Craig
Owens and won that 4-0 to progress into the Points and the Last 64.
The Last 64 saw another 4-0 Win, this time against Chris Cooper. The Group Final (L32)
was against Yorkshire Captain and England International Garry Thompson. A very close
7 leg Match saw Ross progress in the deciding Leg 4-3.
The Last 16 saw Ross take on another England International in Stephen Bunting and
another 7 Leg Match followed, with Ross again progressing after winning the deciding leg.
In teh Quarter Final Ross took on Graham Elvidge, and came out on top in 6 legs this time,
winning 4-2 which took Ross into the Semi Final.
In the Semi Final Ross took on another Yorkshire and England International in
Martin “Assassin” Atkins, who in some good form of late, defeated Ross 5-1 to progress
into the Final, which he later won defeating Robbie Green in a deciding leg.
So 20 points to the good for Ross,  already safe for Lakeside Qualification, but with
Winmau seedings still at stake.
Antwerp Open 2012
Ross had a good start on the Saturday winning the Pairs Competition with
Yorkshires James Wilson beating Garry Thompson and Stephen Bunting 5-3.
The Singles Started well with a 4-0 win over Pascal Hagenaars (NL). Into the Last 128
Ross faced 
Ryan de Vreede (NL) whom he beat 4-1. The Last 64 Ross played
Stefaan Deprez (Bel) and again Won 4-1. Into th Last 32 and the Points, Ross faced
Tony “The Viper” Eccles and managed to win the deciding Leg to take the victory 4-3.
The Last 16 was slightly easier with a 4-0 win over Jac Proosten (NL).
The Quarter  finals were against fast throwing Willy van de Wiel, Willy progressed into the
Semi finals with a 5-2 win over Ross.
EDO England Classic 2012 - Selsey
2 Weeks of Qualification  was left of the 2012/13 Lakeside campaign going into
the England Classic, with only tournaments in Romania and Lithuania to follow
and alot of players lower down the Ranking Table desperate for points to keep
them in with a chance of Lakeside Qualification.
The Draw threw up some interesting Groups with alot of players having to play each other
in the very early stages. Ross was drawn in Group 11, with fellow Scot Gary Stone drawn
in the bottom of his group.
In round 2 Ross played and defeated Richard Platt of West Mids by 3-2, in the Last 128
Ross defeated Hertfordshires Steve Hartley 3-0. In the Last 64 Ross faced in form
Ian Jones of West Mids and lost out in the deciding leg of this 5 Leg Match.
In the Pairs, Ross partnered Steve Douglas, whom he won last Years pairs with.
This time around they faced Tony Eccles and Glen Durrant in the First round and were
beaten 3-0 by the Pair who went onto win the Title on the Sunday afternoon.
Winmau World Masters 2012 - Hull.
Ross qualified for this Years Winmau World Masters as one of the Seeds, and therefore
went straight into the Last 32 Televised Stages. He had to wait for the Floor stages to
complete to learn who his opponent would be. After the Floor Stages, Ross found that
he would be playing fellow Scot Mark Barilli in the Last 32 on Friday afternoon.
In the Best of 5 Set battle Ross left it late, finally taking the Match in the deciding leg
of the Fifth Set. On Saturday, after some Tv time changes, Ross was to play the
impressive qualifier Jim Williams. Ross went 2 sets down and fought back to level the
match at 2-2. Unfortunately Ross lost out in the final set.
During the Winmau, the draw for Lakeside 2013 was made and Ross , seeded 6, will
play Paul Jennings in this years first round at Frimley Green.
Tops of Ghent 2012
Last Weekend saw the 2012 Tops of Ghent tournament in Belgium.
The Saturday saw the Cat B Singles event. The Event started with a 4-0 walkover for
Ross in the Last 256, so an easy route to the last 128. Here Ross took on Polands
Wiltshire based Maciej Wisniewski, which Ross won 4-0 and moved into the last 64.
In the Last 64 Ross met Clive Barden and another 4-0 was the result and Ross moved
into the points and the Last 32. Here he faced Danny Bos (NL) and Won in the deciding
leg 4-3. In the Last 16 Ross faced Englands Paul Jennings and lost out 4-1.

In the Mixed Pairs Ross again partnered Zoe Jones, and progressed well and into
the Quarter finals where they faced Trina Gulliver and Robbie Green, this they Won
3-2 to progress into the semi final. In the Semi they played eventual winners Martin
Atkins and Paula Jacklin losing out 4-2.
In the Mens Pairs Ross partnered Yorkshires James Wilson. In the first round they won
3-0 v Dean De Wulf - Randy Elegeert (Bel). In the Next round they faced the pairing of
Scott Waites - Stephen Bunting (Eng) and lost out in the deciding leg of this 5 leg match.
Ross this Season Captained the Scottish Europe Cup Team to 3rd in the Mens
Competition and x in the Ladies Competition. Gary  Stone Won the Mens Europe
Cup Singles for Scotland.
Europe Cup 2012 - Turkey
In round 1 Ross defeated Philippe Adam of Belgium 4-1. He followed this up by beating
the IDO’s Lee Hayes 4-2.The Following round was a 4-0 win v Mike Zuydwijk of Belgium.
Into the Points and the Last 64 Ross defeated Michel Van Den Bongard of Holland
4-2. In the Last 32, it was a win against Tanguy Borra of Belgium 4-1.In the Last 16,
Ross defeated Richie George 4-1. In the quarter finals Ross faced Jeffrey de Graaf of
Holland and was beaten 5-2.
Sunparks Masters 2012
Ross is pleased to announce that he has extended his contract with Red Dragon for
another 2 Years and would like to thank Red Dragon for their continued support and looks
forward to again working with them.

Zuiderduin Masters 2012 The Beginning of December means the Start of the 2nd Televised major of the Season, and only a month until Lakeside. Ross was drawn in his group alongside John Walton and Steve Douglas. Ross opened the Tournament with a 5-3 Win over former Lakeside Champion John “Boy” Walton. With Steve Douglas also winning against Walton, a nervous 2nd match was to be played for Ross’s fans. Going to the Last leg of 9, Ross started the Leg with a 180 and then went onto win the match 5-4 and move into the Quarter Finals. The Quarter Finals moved to the Best of 5 Sets, 5 Legs with Ross to play Jeffrey de Graaf in another nailbiter. At 2-2, Ross again managed to win the Final set and move into the Semi Final. In the Semi Final Ross played Alan Norris...This turned into a match of Double trouble for Ross with quite a few missed opportunities to win sets. This saw Norris win 3-0 and move into the Final against eventual winner Stephen Bunting.

They progressed well through the Field Winning their Group without dropping a single leg and progressed into the Last 16.Here they defeated Lee Drummond/Clive Lewis by  2-0, then in the Last 8, Robert Huges/Kevin Thomas by 2-0 and in the Semi Final they also defeated Mark Hadwick/Steve Shadwell by the familier Scoreline of 2-0. In the Final they came up against Simon Latchum/Graham Lalor and won that 2-1 dropping their only Leg of the Competition. Welsh Open 2012 - Prestatyn, Wales British Grand Prix 2011/12 The Grand Prix table runs between the Hampshire Open and ends with last weekends Welsh Open. This Season Ross has Finished Joint Winner with 37 points alongside Stephen Bunting. Dundee Open 2012 Ross carried on from his good run in the Welsh Open, by retaining his Dundee Open Singles Title last weekend in Dundee. Ross defeated fellow Scottish International Alan  Soutar in this Years Final.. In Last 256 Ross defeated Dorset’s Jamie Garman 4-0, then went onto to beat Somersets Kelvin Hart in the Last 128 by 4-1.  In the Last 64 Ross faced Dutch player Jac Proosten and came out on top by 4-2. In the Last 32 and the Points, Ross was defeated by Willem Maudigers of the Netherlands. In the Mixed Pairs Ross again Paired with Zoe Jones, who has been in fine form of late. They progressed easily into the Last 32 where they took on Dorset County “A” pairing of Ben Ward and Trudy Archer which they won by 3-0. They faced Aspinall and O’brian in the Quarter Final which they again Won 3-0. They were finally defeated in the Semi Finals by Dee Bateman and Scotty Waites. EDO England Open 2012 - Selsey Ross started well with a 3-0 Win over Surrey’s Tony Reeves. The Next round saw Ross defeated 3-1 by Humbersides Tom Gregory. Ross didn’t play in the pairs, but did take part in the Mixed Triples again playing with Zoe Jones and Jake Jones. They were dfeated in the last 32 of the triples after a couple of good 3-0 wins. The first year in which this popular Open has been given BDO Invitation points, again saw a rise in entries and a record attendence. Ross was drawn in a tough group, proceeding through his first round 4-0 to James Angus and then recieving a walkover in Round 2 over William Sutherland. The 3rd round saw  Ross taking on Benito Van de Pas of the Netherlands. Ross went onto lose this game 4-2. The Next event for Ross will be the England Masters and British Classic at Coventry City Ricoh Arena in 2 weeks time. Granite City Open 2012 - Aberdeen A busy weekend, with 2 Ranking tournaments at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena. The Saturday kicked off with the BDO British Classic, and event which Ross has won in  the past. The first round saw Ross win 4-0 v David Hicks. Round 2 saw Ross with another win against Brian Johnston again 4-0. The 3rd Round,saw Ross take on Gary Stafford, and again Won 4-0. The Last 32 saw Ross losing his First legs of the Weekend against Darren Hale, Ross eventually winning 4-3. The Last 16 saw Ross play Stephen Bunting, another close game saw Ross defeated 4-2 and Stephen progress into the last 8. So important points on the Board for Ross in the First of these 2 events. Sundays EDO England Masters saw Ross take on Hertfordshires Dean Cross, winning 3-0. The 2nd Round, Saw Ross take on Dorset’s Ben Ward, a close game with Ross 2-0 up and then Ben coming back to 2- 2, but Ross held onto to win 3-2. The 3rd Round saw Ross take on Mark Stock (ed - another Dorset player who now represents Somerset) with Ross winning this one 3-2. Next up was Worcestershires Tony Randell which saw Ross defeated 3-1. The Pairs, saw Ross paired with his Old Partner Martin Adams, they progressed to the Quarter Finals where they were defeated by the Eventual Winners, Scott Waites and Garry Thompson by 3-1. BDO British Classic and EDO England Masters  Ricoh Arena, Coventry Belgium Open 2012 This years Belgium Open saw Ross in the Points again with a Last 16 Finish. In the Mens Pairs Ross again Partnered Martin Adams and Finished in the Last 32. In the Mixed Pairs Ross partned Zoe Jones and finished in the Last 32. Marymass Open Singles 2012 77 men & 16 ladies contested the annual "Marymass" Open singles at the Towerlands  sports club yesterday, Ross Montgomery and Margret Ferguson both came through  strong fields to claim the titles. Thanks to Carol Gibson, Kaileigh Brown and Wullie Laird  on running another successful competition. BDO British Open 2012 - Bridlington This years British Open was again held in The Bridlington Spa and the Last Cat A Tournamentof the Season, with alot of players chasing points towards Lakeside 2013 Qualification. Ross started his Group games well with a 4-1 win over Mark Laybourne, Round 2 saw a 4-0 win over Andy Harland and into the Last 128 Ross went. Here he played Craig Owens and won that 4-0 to progress into the Points and the Last 64. The Last 64 saw another 4-0 Win, this time against Chris Cooper. The Group Final (L32) was against Yorkshire Captain and England International Garry Thompson. A very close 7 leg Match saw Ross progress in the deciding Leg 4-3. The Last 16 saw Ross take on another England International in Stephen Bunting and  another 7 Leg Match followed, with Ross again progressing after winning the deciding leg. In teh Quarter Final Ross took on Graham Elvidge, and came out on top in 6 legs this time, winning 4-2 which took Ross into the Semi Final. In the Semi Final Ross took on another Yorkshire and England International in Martin “Assassin” Atkins, who in some good form of late, defeated Ross 5-1 to progress into the Final, which he later won defeating Robbie Green in a deciding leg. So 20 points to the good for Ross,  already safe for Lakeside Qualification, but with Winmau seedings still at stake.  Antwerp Open 2012 Ross had a good start on the Saturday winning the Pairs Competition with Yorkshires James Wilson beating Garry Thompson and Stephen Bunting 5-3. The Singles Started well with a 4-0 win over Pascal Hagenaars (NL). Into the Last 128 Ross faced   Ryan de Vreede (NL) whom he beat 4-1. The Last 64 Ross played Stefaan Deprez (Bel) and again Won 4-1. Into th Last 32 and the Points, Ross faced Tony “The Viper” Eccles and managed to win the deciding Leg to take the victory 4-3. The Last 16 was slightly easier with a 4-0 win over Jac Proosten (NL). The Quarter  finals were against fast throwing Willy van de Wiel, Willy progressed into the Semi finals with a 5-2 win over Ross. EDO England Classic 2012 - Selsey 2 Weeks of Qualification  was left of the 2012/13 Lakeside campaign going into the England Classic, with only tournaments in Romania and Lithuania to follow and alot of players lower down the Ranking Table desperate for points to keep them in with a chance of Lakeside Qualification. The Draw threw up some interesting Groups with alot of players having to play each other in the very early stages. Ross was drawn in Group 11, with fellow Scot Gary Stone drawn in the bottom of his group. In round 2 Ross played and defeated Richard Platt of West Mids by 3-2, in the Last 128 Ross defeated Hertfordshires Steve Hartley 3-0. In the Last 64 Ross faced in form Ian Jones of West Mids and lost out in the deciding leg of this 5 Leg Match. In the Pairs, Ross partnered Steve Douglas, whom he won last Years pairs with. This time around they faced Tony Eccles and Glen Durrant in the First round and were beaten 3-0 by the Pair who went onto win the Title on the Sunday afternoon. Winmau World Masters 2012 - Hull. Ross qualified for this Years Winmau World Masters as one of the Seeds, and therefore  went straight into the Last 32 Televised Stages. He had to wait for the Floor stages to complete to learn who his opponent would be. After the Floor Stages, Ross found that he would be playing fellow Scot Mark Barilli in the Last 32 on Friday afternoon. In the Best of 5 Set battle Ross left it late, finally taking the Match in the deciding leg of the Fifth Set. On Saturday, after some Tv time changes, Ross was to play the  impressive qualifier Jim Williams. Ross went 2 sets down and fought back to level the match at 2-2. Unfortunately Ross lost out in the final set. During the Winmau, the draw for Lakeside 2013 was made and Ross , seeded 6, will play Paul Jennings in this years first round at Frimley Green. Tops of Ghent 2012 Last Weekend saw the 2012 Tops of Ghent tournament in Belgium. The Saturday saw the Cat B Singles event. The Event started with a 4-0 walkover for  Ross in the Last 256, so an easy route to the last 128. Here Ross took on Polands Wiltshire based Maciej Wisniewski, which Ross won 4-0 and moved into the last 64. In the Last 64 Ross met Clive Barden and another 4-0 was the result and Ross moved into the points and the Last 32. Here he faced Danny Bos (NL) and Won in the deciding leg 4-3. In the Last 16 Ross faced Englands Paul Jennings and lost out 4-1. Ross happy with some early season Points. In the Mixed Pairs Ross again partnered Zoe Jones, and progressed well and into the Quarter finals where they faced Trina Gulliver and Robbie Green, this they Won 3-2 to progress into the semi final. In the Semi they played eventual winners Martin Atkins and Paula Jacklin losing out 4-2. In the Mens Pairs Ross partnered Yorkshires James Wilson. In the first round they won 3-0 v Dean De Wulf - Randy Elegeert (Bel). In the Next round they faced the pairing of Scott Waites - Stephen Bunting (Eng) and lost out in the deciding leg of this 5 leg match. Ross this Season Captained the Scottish Europe Cup Team to 3rd in the Mens Competition and x in the Ladies Competition. Gary  Stone Won the Mens Europe Cup Singles for Scotland. Europe Cup 2012 - Turkey In round 1 Ross defeated Philippe Adam of Belgium 4-1. He followed this up by beating the IDO’s Lee Hayes 4-2.The Following round was a 4-0 win v Mike Zuydwijk of Belgium. Into the Points and the Last 64 Ross defeated Michel Van Den Bongard of Holland 4-2. In the Last 32, it was a win against Tanguy Borra of Belgium 4-1.In the Last 16, Ross defeated Richie George 4-1. In the quarter finals Ross faced Jeffrey de Graaf of Holland and was beaten 5-2. Sunparks Masters 2012 Ross is pleased to announce that he has extended his contract with Red Dragon for  another 2 Years and would like to thank Red Dragon for their continued support and looks  forward to again working with them. Red Dragon Zuiderduin Masters 2012 The Beginning of December means the Start of the 2nd Televised major of the Season, and only a month until Lakeside. Ross was drawn in his group alongside John Walton and Steve Douglas. Ross opened the Tournament with a 5-3 Win over former Lakeside Champion John “Boy” Walton. With Steve Douglas also winning against Walton, a nervous 2nd match was to be played for Ross’s fans. Going to the Last leg of 9, Ross started the Leg with a 180 and then went onto win the match 5-4 and move into the Quarter Finals. The Quarter Finals moved to the Best of 5 Sets, 5 Legs with Ross to play Jeffrey de Graaf in another nailbiter. At 2-2, Ross again managed to win the Final set and move into the Semi Final. In the Semi Final Ross played Alan Norris...This turned into a match of Double trouble for Ross with quite a few missed opportunities to win sets. This saw Norris win 3-0 and move into the Final against eventual winner Stephen Bunting.
